For many years KMHA has been able to keep our registration costs lower than (or as a minimum comparable with) most centres in our area. Over the past 2 years we have seen increases in prices for ice time, fees for all services, insurance and equipment costs etc. This along with HST being added to all services including ice rental, a significant reduction in the amount of the annual grant awarded to KMHA by the Municipality of Kincardine and the fact that KMHA has carried forward a deficit for the past 2 years; means that we can no longer sustain the status quo and again this year we will have to increase our registration fees. KMHA will also be looking at ways to reduce costs and become more cost effective.
In addition to the increased registration fees we will also be introducing a mandatory fundraiser during the hockey season. The cost of this fundraiser can be revenue neutral to families that choose to participate to recoup the cost. This will likely involve selling draw tickets, cash calendars or something similar. KMHA is still working on the details, more information will follow later.
