First Battle of the Season
Submitted By Steve Ambeau on Wednesday, October 14, 2009
The Kincardine Bantam Tim-br Mart team travelled to Mitchell for their first regular season game and the boys did not disappoint.

Kincardine was the first to populate the scoreboard when Riley Cook passed from behind the net to Mitch Burrows who was in perfect position to fire it past the Mitchell goalie.  Kincardine finished the first period with another goal by Kevin Hewitt from a clearing pass from behind his own net by Matt Baker.

It wasn't until near the end of the second period before Kincardine would score again.  With a pass from David McFarlan, Carter Strachan fired a shot over the goalie's right shoulder to give Kincardine a 3 goal advantage going into the third period.

Mitchell was fired up after the break and were able to score 2 goals midway through the third period.  Goalie Spencer Montgomery was able to keep Mitchell off the scoreboard for the remainder of the period, allowing Kincardine to skate away with a 3 to 2 victory.
