Still Undefeated

Following a busy week with four games, the West Shore Bantam Rep girls have an extraordinary team record of 18 wins, 0 losses and 3 ties for the season to date.  Goalie Morgan Baker has been steadfast in net,  achieving 2 more shutouts. Most recently, the Bantams took on Saugeen Shores December 12, at home, winning 9-0.

In previous early-December action, the Kinucks had three "away" games. The team travelled to Chatsworth on December 4th to play TCDMHA. This match-up was an entertaining, fast-paced game and after a scoreless first period with rapid end-to-end play, the Kinucks were challenged to put forth their best effort in the remaining periods. Receiving Madison McFadden's pass from behind the net, Kristen Derksen precisely fired the puck to open the scoring. McFadden assisted again, with Cassidy Colhoun, to set up Courtney Surridge for Kincardine's second goal. In the third period, the West Shore girls cemented their lead when Victoria Krulicki tipped in Dakota Smith's shot on net. Colhoun sealed the deal on a pass from Derksen to put Kincardine up by 4. With just two minutes left in the game, Baker's shutout was foiled when the puck trickled by her, ending the game with the score 4-1 for Kincardine.

December 6 was a snowy road trip to Owen Sound. The Kincardine team was down 1-0 when Surridge, helped by Colhoun, evened the score. Derksen, assisted by Colhoun again, tallied the game winner in the third to give the Kinucks a 2-1 victory.

The next evening, December 7th, the girls traveled to Paisley to take on the Arran-Elderslie Bantams, defeating them 7-0. Mikhayla Bowes, Courtney Surridge and Victoria Krulicki netted two goals each with Madison McFadden scoring the final point of the evening. Assists went to Dakota Smith (3), Kristy Parsons, McFadden (2), Surridge, Cassidy Colhoun, and Jordan Murchie.

Merry Christmas!!
