Playoffs Have Begun!!!

First game of the playoffs was contested in the home of hockey great Paul Henderson.
The spirited Lucknow came came out flying even though they had a short bench. The Kinucks showed their few weeks of inactivity and started off sluggish. It was back and forth and Strader kept a few good shots from finding the twine. Kincardine skated off with a 1-0 lead after the first thanks to a goal by Macdonald set up by Riggin. The second period was a bit different from the first: The boys relearned how to play. It was a scrappy 15 minutes with Lucknow first tying the game, then putting it to the Kinucks with some heavy hitting. Our boys stepped it up and came out of the 2nd with a 4-1 lead. Goals by Macdonald, Calcutt and Howse, assists by Riggin and Calcutt. With a 4-1 lead, our guys let off a little but not enough to let Lucknow find the back of the net. Our defence shut them down. The scoring ended with a goal from Allingham assisted by Calcutt.
After a long break of no hockey. The boys enjoyed the 5-1 win. The rematch is in Kincardine Saturday night at 6:15
