Kincardine Holiday Inn Atoms Have Strong Weekend
The Kincardine Holiday Inn Atoms started out the weekend with a home and home series with the BCH Ice dogs. On Friday Night The Holiday Inn Atoms headed down hwy 21 to Play BCH in Bayfield.
The team was fired up right off the opening face off. The team played hard and managed to keep the Ice dogs out of the Kincardine end for most of the first period. Strong defences play by Carson S. Payton M, Jessica G and Colton G-H, kept the puck in the Ice dogs zone. The scoring was started by a great rush from the Kincardine end by Colton G-H he was able to thread the BCH players and made a fantastic shot and scored to take Kincardine to a 1-0 lead. The Ice dogs where able to tie the game up in the third period to make it a 1-1 game. With 1 minute left in the game the Strong line of Abbey S, Abbey M, and Mark Y where sent out to try and win the game. With 15 seconds left to play a flurry of shots pas placed on the BCH goalie and Abbey S was able to sink one past to allow Kincardine to skate to there first win of the yr. A strong showing by all the forwards helped bring in the win. Saturday BCH traveled to Kincardine for a rematch. Kincardine Started the scoring out With Abbey S netting the first goal. BCH came back ad scored 2 goals over the next 2 periods. Into the Third period Carson S skated through the BCH offense and scored to tie the game up at 2-2. Strong play by Noah B and Liam H helped out with kincardine’s offence. The Holiday Inn Atoms are really starting to get there position play down. There where many good chances by Madelyn E and Alexis W when they positioned themselves in front of the net to pick up any lose rebounds that may have bounced out. Once again the defence had a strong showing and made it very difficult for the BCH Ice dogs to have any chance in Kincardiens end. Stand up goal tending by Liam M for the 2 games helped Kincardine to come off this home and home with a win and a tie.
