Kincardine LL2 Takes on Mt. Forest
Kincardine LL2 travelled to Mt. Forest on Saturday 14Mar2009 to complete their home and home series.
At home, Kincardine surprisingly upset Mt. Forest in perhaps their overall best played game of the season. Could the team repeat the effort away from home?
With 8 skaters and a goalie, Kincardine played their hearts out to earn a 1-1 draw during regulation time. Mt. Forest struck first two minutes into the period. Less than a minute later, Kincardine replied when the Rocket (#2) passed the puck out from the corner to Michael (#6) at the side of the net. Michael slapped the puck in to tie the score. This score held through the next two periods. Alex (#1) kept Kincardine in the game late in the third period as Kincardine's eight skaters were slowly being worn down. Regulation time ended a 1-1 tie.
Overtime continued the scoreless play for 6 minutes. Kincardine had two or three chances to win the game, but could not put the puck in the net. The game ended on a Mt. Forest goal with 3:54 to go in overtime for the 2-1 win.
