Kincardine VS Durham
The Peewee Boys local league team travelled to Durham this past weekend.

With only nine skaters, there was no lack of ice time for the boys.  Kincardine controlled the play for much of the first period, with the defense of Mathew Strader, Nikhil Deshpande, Kalvin Stares and Michael Dakin keeping Durham away from goalie Joey Doyle.  Late in the first, Kincardine got on the board on a goal by Brendan Murchie, assisted by Logan Wolfe and Owen Hunsburger.  Murchie notched his second of the game midway through the second period, again assisted by Hunsburger.  Doyle stoned the Durham forwards through the second, including a number of breakaways.  Corey Howse controlled the boards for much of the period and set-up a number of scoring chances.  With seconds remaining in the period, Murchie picked up a pass from Adam Ball and Strader to complete the hat trick and put Kincardine up 3-0.  Kincardine’s short bench came into play in the third as Durham pressed and the boys fought desperately to hang on.  Durham managed to score three in the period but Kincardine hung on for a well earned 3-3 tie.
