PeeWee Girls Begin Playdowns
Kincardines Kinucks Sobeys PeeWee Girls came out of the blocks strong this past week as they begin their march for yet another chance at Provincial Gold. Wednesday, South Huron came to town to begin the home and away series. This was a team with impressive size and skill. The first five minutes saw a good aggressive offense by SH that our girls were soon able to read and defend against. Strong play and great passing and net approach led to Kincardine dominating with a 4-1 score. Goals by Lauren Jolley, Mikhayla Bowes, Jessica Satosek and Victoria Krulicki. Assists by Cassidy Colhoun(3), Satosek, Hailey Allen, Krulicki, and Nicole McLeod.
Sunday action had Stratford in town for their first in the home and away series. This was a tight game with a sluggish K-town team battling it out in tight quarters for most of the game. Shot counts were low but the girls were able to slide a couple past the Stratford netminder before they decided to change their goalie. Still it was too late as the Kincardine girls had done the damage with three goals unanswered. Cassidy Cohoun was denied her hat-trick but not for lack of trying. Hailey Allen was able to pot the final goal for a 3-0 win. Assists by Laura Mangotich, Krulicki, Vanessa Hodgins, Satosek and Bowes.
