PeeWee Girls WOAA Champions
This past weekend the Sobey's PeeWee Kinucks Girls hockey organization took part in the WOAA Championship in Lucknow. The girls indepth training and determination proved the undoing of their opponents in a two game round robin.

First game action saw Kincardine play a strong offensive attack game against Goderich. This resulted in a 5-0 tilt with Morgan Baker in command with a shutout. Goals by Maddie Duncan from Cassidy Colhoun and Jessica Satosek. Hailey Allen from Vanessa Hodgins. Victoria Krulicki from Colhoun and Duncan. Satosek from Mikhayla Bowes and Hodgins. Another goal for Satosek from Krulicki and Duncan sealed the win. Second round action brought the girls in tight with league rival Walkerton. Tension filled the rink as the game started back to back action. Walkerton was unable to broach the strong Kincardine defense unit of Lauren Jolley, Dakota Smith, Laura Mangotich and combinations of Nicole McLeod and Duncan. First period saw Kincardine get on the scoresheet with a goal by Duncan from Colhoun. Total command was achieved after that as a broken Walkerton side was unable to counteract offensive combinations produced by the coaching staff of Corey Colhoun and Dave Baker. The pressure continued through to the third period but Walkerton was allowed a goal late in the period. This was quickly returned by the Kincardine unit with an unassisted goal by Colhoun to break the backs of the Walkerton squad. Final score 2-1.  This put the girls into the WOAA Championship final against Mount Forest. Scouting reports proved to be effective as this team was analysed and totalling shut down. This was the Kinucks series and they were not about to be denied success. Trainers Kelly Colhoun an Trish Bowes had the PeeWee unit in tip top condition for this all important game. This was a one-sided affair as the girls found their stride early with a goal by Colhoun from McLeod and Duncan. Second and third period action was intense as the play was all Kincardine. Goals continued as the twine was bulged time and time again. Goals by McLeod from Colhoun, Colhoun from Krulicki and Hodgins, and the hat trick for Colhoun from Krulicki and Allen. Yet another shutout for Morgan Baker. Hats off to Mount Forest for a great final game and good sportsmanship.
This has been a tremendously successful season. Congratulations to all the girls, coaching staff and management on an outstanding season. This level of play will serve them well as they enter the Provincial Championship in April to represent our town, Kincardine.
