The Kincardine Co-operators Pee Wee Girls
LL headed to Ayton Saturday February 28th
to play an afternoon game against
Normanby. The Kincardine Co-operators,
having defeated Normanby 3-1 in their previous contest on the 21st
of February, were cautiously optimistic that they had they had the goods to do it
all over again.
Normanby, Hannah H, netted the first goal with just over a minute left in the first period. It was a tough goal against Kincardine. The puck appeared to be on a magical roller coaster ride from player to player as it snuck past the befuddled Kincardine net minder. It wasn't until mid way in the the second period that Kincardine appeared on the score sheet as Darby W and Megan S combined to tie the game. In the third period Normanby edged ahead of Kincardine with only seven minutes left to play on a strong play by Normanby's Hannah H. In the final five minutes of play the Kincardine Cooperators played with tremendous intensity but came up just a little short this time out. Normanby 2 – Kincardine 1.
