TIM-BR MART Bantams Cheat Defeat

Looking at a 10 player Mildmay bench, and fresh off a strong showing at the Ingersoll tournament the cards were defiantly in favor of the TIM-BR MART Bantams going into this match. Nothing could have been more far from the truth, a less than energetic effort had the boys down by three as they came out for the third frame.
The between period break and motivational speeches from Coaches McKeag and Howard had a positive effect as they were rejuvenated and set to work on the uphill battle at hand. Strong work on the fence by Garret Satosek and Dallas Hewett resulted in a quick snapper from the stick of Jory Norman which found the back of the net. Next it was Mitch Dickson who managed to redirect a bullet from the slot from Cody Bowes assisted by Michael Osadca. With boys now within one , the defensive squad of Mathew Baker , Sam Gurbin, Nathan Fohkens , and Brady Collins were called on several times to shut down a desperate and hard charging Mildmay team. Constant pressure by Cody Bowes, Mitch Dickson and Dylan Sayle resulted in a floater back to the point which was promptly deposited in the penthouse region of the net by Michael Osadca. Blocked shots by Thomas Elliott, and forced turnovers by Jacob Hunsberger and David Mcfarlan had the Mildmay squad frustrated and increasing the emphasis on physical play on each shift. With the clock ticking down, the crowd in a frenzy and desperation play by both sides it was a fitting that Dylan Sayle on his knees was able to find a rebound off the stick of Cody Bowes to slam home for the winner.
