Going to the Provincials!
The Kincardine West Shore Bantam Girls Rep team advanced to the OWHA Provincial Championship after defeating Goderich two straight in their best-of-three series.  The girls will now represent the region in the Bantam B division at the annual championships in Mississauga in April.

Kincardine got off to a quick start in Game 1 in Kincardine on February 23 when Emily Elphick sent Madison McFadden breaking in all alone to score on the game’s first shift.  Hayley Stewart scored a power play goal to up the score to 2-0.  Goderich cut the lead in half in the second period, but Kincardine took advantage of another power play with Morgan Padfield scoring to regain the two goal advantage early in the third period.  Goderich scored late in the third to make it interesting but Kincardine netminder Kortney Watson fended of a late barrage of shots to record the 3-2 Kincardine victory.

Game 2 on February 26 went much the same way as Game 1 with Kincardine getting an early lead on goals by Padfield and Stewart in the first period.  Goderich continued to storm the Kincardine net and eventually tied up the score early in the third, only to see Kincardine regain a two goal lead on goals by McFadden and Padfield.  Goderich pulled their goalie and managed to get back to within one goal but Kincardine hung on for a 4-3 win and the series victory.
