Hawgs Breath Midget "C" Girls Championship Winners in Orangeville
On the weekend of January 16 - 18th the Kincardine Kinucks Midget "C" Rep girls hockey team braved the sub zero temperatures and winter snow squalls to participate in the Orangeville Tigers 31st Annual Sweetheart Tournament.  The Kincardine Kinucks were undefeated in all games advancing to the finals and returning home as the Midget Girls "C" Division Champions.

The final game was played on Sunday January 18th against the keen West Nipissing Sting.  Kincardine won this game 2 - 0, but not without a good effort by the girls from the north.  Kincardine opened the first period with a well earned goal by Anna McFarlan assisted by Marissa Jolley.  This first goal got both teams excited in what continued to be a fast paced game.  The Kinucks and the Sting were well matched and it was a pleasure to watch a championship game played in the spirit of good sportsmanship.  As the girls battled it out Kincardine's Katilyn McDonell scored early in the third assisted by Jennifer Boyadjian to secure a 2 - 0 lead.  Kincardine kept up their strong play, our goalie Katelynn Woodman stayed focused (as well as recording a shut-out) and held their lead to bring the title home.  Game MVP went to Jennifer Boyadjian and tournament MVP went to Kayla Crouchman.  Congratulation team on your tournament win.
