Kincardine Midget LL Girls battle Beaver Valley in a 1-0 loss
The Midget LL Girls and a few parents who were able to get away for 5:30pm caught a bus driven by Mr. H Watson to travel to Thornbury to play the River Rats. Kincardine had a short bench and the girls got plenty of ice time.

The River Rats scored in the 1st period and were held at just one goal for the remainder of the game. The first two periods of play was very fast paced hockey. The girls were playing their positions, passing, defense, checking, rushing the net and doing some great stick/puck handling. For the first two periods the Kincardine girls had lengthy periods of play in the other end, where they were quite aggressive and relentlessly pelting the goal area with good, hard shots. The girls just couldn't buy a break. The Rats have a good goalie and she robbed the girls a few times. The third period saw alot more back and forth play, a couple of break aways and some 2 on 1 action. The Kincardine fans never stopped cheering or shouting out encouragement and in the dwindling minutes of the game they never gave up hope, raising to their feet a couple of times. The fans were rewarded for their dedication with flat out effort, the Kincardine girls never gave up. Meagan did a great job in net. While riding on the bus on the way home, this reporter overheard fans and coaching staff discussing the game and there was nothing but high praise for the level of hockey on the ice that night. I'm sure they talked about tweaking areas to improve play (as all coaches should do) but I didn't hear any of that.  Great effort girls. Thanks to Mr Watson for the safe ride ( it was thick in a few areas). Thank you to Mrs Bianco for arranging the bus. There were alot of grateful parents taking advantage of the bus service. Thanks is also extended to Coach Beaton for the pop and pizza. The girls worked up a hunger and the fans had a solid 20 minutes of silence to enjoy while they ate. ;-)
