Three out of Four Ain’t Bad
The Canadian Tire Atom Reps won three out of four games over the weekend.

Starting on Thursday night against Hanover, the Atoms won 9-1. “Crazy Legs” Colley led all scorers with his first ever hat-trick – tyke doesn’t count! Other goal scorers were “the Riddler” Harrison, “the Twin Towers” Kuz and Coady, “Captain Hook” Bishop, and “insert something witty” Colhoun. Ryan Thede recorded three assists, Harrison picked up two and singles went to Bishop, Long, Kuz, Zettle, McFadden, and Colhoun.

On Friday night, parents and players enjoyed the scenic drive to Lions Head! Brock shut down the opposition on the way to a 4-0 win. Kendon Zettle opened the scoring early in the second period from McFadden and Long. With the score just 1-0 going into the third, Kuz broke the game open with a pass from Coady. Thede added two more goals from Colley, McFadden, Zettle and Emma Swift.

After a good nights rest, the Atoms were up against Hanover again – this time in the new PittCentre. Hanover’s goalie was on form and the Atoms had a hard time scoring.  With the score 0-0 in the third, Brock stopped a crucial break-away. Darian Kuz added to his red-hot weekend, with his third goal in three straight games. Kuz stuffed home a mad scramble from in front of the net with assists going to Colley and Thede. The Kinucks would later seal the game - with Colhoun playing right wing, she picked up a pass from Thede and fired a width-wide, tape-to-tape pass to Colley. Breaking down the left side, Colley beat the Hanover goalie five-hole. Kincardine 2; Hanover 0.

Finishing off the four game set, the Atoms hosted the Huskies of Durham. The Atoms beat the Huskies 3-2 in their last meeting in Durham. Sunday would be different, however, as the Atoms showed the fatigue of a busy weekend. Durham scored in the first 24 seconds and scored one more time in the first to gain a 2-0 win. Bishop would answer on the power-play from McFadden and Thede. With the score 2-1 going into the third, McFadden scored two goals by wheeling from his own and shooting one low stick side and the other high glove side. McFadden’s efforts were not enough however and Durham went on to win 5-3.
