Sobey's Kinuck Peewee Girls Challenge TCDMHA
On Friday November 5th the Kincardine Kinuck PeeWee Girls hosted the Township of Chatsworth and District Minor Hockey Association (TCDMHA) at the Tiverton Arena. It was an evenly matched first period with heavy playing by both sides and with 3:40 left in the first period TCDMHA fought hard for their first goal. At 2:49 their second goal snuck through the pads of goalie Sophia Tomani ending the first period with a score of 2-0 for the visitors.

The second period started with great puck passing and pressure by Korrine Mangotich, Hayley Sorbara and Georgia Fields line.  Jordy Surridge had a beautiful break away only to be blocked by the TCDMHA goalie.  They gave it right back to us and the score at the end of the 2nd period was 3-0.

Great defensive moves by the combination of Jordyn Surridge and Alice Thorpe, Brooke Storey and Billie Patteson.  Good effort was put forth by Mikayla McGregor, Tori Hodgins, Madison McBride, MacKenzie Nashiem and Madison Johnson.  Several break away attempts were made by Rainor Kuz, Kelsey Padfield, Christen Bell and Georgia Fields.

In the last 5 minutes of the 3rd period another 2 opposing goals were scored to make the final 5-0 win for TCDMHA.

On November 11th Kincardine's & Sobey's Pee Wee girls played faced a rematch, and what a game! The first period had Chatsworth leading with two fire ball shots between Sophia Tomaini's pipes. We thought we were in for a long road when the second period came, but our Kincardine girls fought back.  Christen Bell Tried to sink one on their net and did not succeed, but her frustration built and she went for a second shot this time with determination, and power putting us on the score board, assisted by Alice Thorpe,  making it 2-1 for Chatsworth.

For the remainder of the second period the girls played hard.  Makayla McGregor, Georgia Fields, and Tori Hodgins had their own shots on Chatsworth net, with not a number on the board. Brooke Storey, Madison McBride, Jordy Surridge, Kelesy Padfield and Billie Patterson would not let Chatsworth near Tomaini's net.

Finally early in the third period Chatsworth got one more in making it 3-1, but the girls did not surrender, Hayley Sorbara, and Madisyn Johnston kept the puck in the opponents end with pressure on.  Then unexpectedly Mackenzie Nasheim passed one to Rainor Kuz and she single handedly blasted their goalie coming back instantly with a goal of our own.  Making the final score 3-2 for Chatsworth.  The girls never gave up, they played hard, and had a great nail biting game. Great job girls!
