Montogmery Ford Bantam Girls Draw vs. Walkerton Rangers
Montogmery Ford Bantam Girls played a hard fought game with stellar performances from the rookie
goalie and the Pee Wee girls that came out to shore up Kincardine
It was a game which saw the Kincardine team dominate the majority of the play at the Davidson centre despite not having their regular lines or their goaltender.
Christen Bell and Rainor McCorrmick were drafted into play and Tara Wood slotted into the net to face the Walkerton Rangers.
In the the opening minute of the first period Kincardine took the lead with a goal from Megan Stewart-Kemp wth an assist from Rachael Whitney. The play was end to end but both goalies frustrated the teams respective snipers for the rest of the period.
Walkerton started the scoring in the second period at 13:55 with a goal from Carly Morris. Several minutes later Melynda McKenzie slipped another past the Kincardine net minder to take the lead 2-1. Kincardine's Elsie Shewfelt would foil the Walkerton goalie to close out second period scoring and to tie the game.
In the third period the play was dominated by Kincardine but they could not seem to beat the goalie until 11:33 when Christen Bell knifed one in. Kincardine was leading the game until Hayley Thede fired one past Kincardine's puck eater.... the scoring would find its way into the history books as a tie.
