Montgomery Ford Bantam Girls Succumb to a 'Wild 'Attack
The Kincardine MontgomeryFord Bantam Girls faced off against the Bruce
Peninsula Wild Sunday evening on home ice. Having lost to the Wild
earlier this season the 'Ford Tough' girls were looking to send the Wild
packing.
Montgomery Ford was off to a good start when Nicole McCleod and Rachel Whitney combined at 6:44 of the first period to slip one past the Wild's net minder Jacquie Crowley. Three minutes later Elsie Shewfelt converted a pass from Eden McFarlane to put Montgomery Ford up by two goals going into the second. Bruce Peninsula's Brianna Jonas put the Wild on the scoreboard at 2:40 of the second and the gritty Wild scored the equalizer at 10:19 of the third. With the game tied the two teams were locked in an epic battle to secure a victory. It took a little over eight minutes before the Wild would foil Montgomery Ford's determined effort. The Bruce Peninsula Wild would take this hard fought game 3-2.
