Bantam Local League Round Robin Round Up
The Kincardine Bantam Old Stars are having an awesome time in the round robin playoffs. What a time to go on a winning streak! It has to be said that our goalies, Brad Liddle and Matt Strader have done a terrific job between the pipes!

The team faced Lucknow in the first set of home and away games.
Game 1:  Brent McDonald (Joel Riggin) scored and then he went on to score again unassisted.  Aiden Calcutt scored with a Riggin assist.  Corey Howse potted Kincardine’s 4th and Jared Allingham netted Kincardine’s 5th goal.  Both were assisted by Calcutt. 5-1 Kincardine.
Game 2:  This game featured Corey Howse at his best!  Corey scored his first hat trick of the season.  He was assisted by Calcutt and Braeden Morgan for the first goal, Brent McDonald for the second and flew solo for the third.  Big smile on Howse’s face that night!  3-2 for the Old Stars.
Game 3: Kincardine Old Stars vs. BCH Ice Dogs in Clinton.  Logan Wolfe (Calcutt, Howse) opened up the scoring. Riggin (McDonald, Allingham) slapped in Kincardine’s 2nd. Howse (Calcutt) scored Kincardine’s 3rd goal.  McDonald, who was just warming up, picked up a pass from Kaleb Brough for Kincardine’s 4th.  Nikhil Deshpande skated up the ice and let one fly for the Old Stars 5th and McDonald scored the next 3 with an assisted awarded to Owen Hunsburger for the 6th and the next two were sheer McDonald! 8-2 Kincardine.
Game 4: Kincardine facing the Goderich Sailors.  It wasn’t a pretty game but it should be noted that the Old Stars held their tempers and did Kincardine proud. McDonald (Hunsburger) opened the scoring. Howse (Brendan Murchie) nailed the second. McDonald (Deshpande, Hunsburger) scored goal number 3.  Howse (Parker) scored again. Brough scored goals 4(Morgan) and 5(Deshpande).  McDonald scored goals 7 (Parker, Wolfe) and 8 (Murchie). 8-0 for Kincardine.
Game 5:  Old Stars vs. Minto Mad Dogs.  McDonald (Taylor Casciano, Howse) lit up the lights for Kincardine. Calcutt (Brough, Parker) scored Kincardine’s 2nd. Allingham (Calcutt) netted Kincardine’s 3rd goal and then Calcutt (Brough) scored himself McDonald (Howse, Murchie) also closed the scoring.  5-1 Kincardine
Game 6:  Old Stars vs. Sailors reprise.  It was a better game, that is for sure!  Casciano opened the scoring on a rebound shot made by Deshpande. There were loud cheers from the Kincardine bench for that play.  Calcutt scored on a set up by Wolfe.  McDonald (Deshpande) netted Kincardine’s 3rd.  McDonald (Wolfe, Howse) also scored the 4th.  Calcutt (Parker) lit up the scoreboard then McDonald setup Howse for Kincardine’s 6th.  Parker, busy at the blue line, sent one flying and McDonald picked up the rebound to score.  Hunsburger (McDonald) scored the 8th goal, and finishing off the Kincardine scoring was Howse (Murchie).  9-3 for the Old Stars.
On Sunday afternoon, The Mad Dogs hosted the Old Stars in Harriston.  It was probably one of the prettier games that this writer has seen in a while – great passing, great checking and the second effort was there.  The Mad Dogs are a physically big team.  Brough opened the scoring assisted by Morgan and McDonald. Calcutt chimed in No 2 with Parker and Howse assisting.  McDonald (Hunsburger) scored goal 3 and  Brough (Mcdonald) scored the Old Stars’ 4th.  McDonald scored the next 2 with Deshpande, Morgan and Murchie getting the assists.  Great team effort!  6-2 Kincardine. Friday night @ 8 p.m. will end the round robin.  See you at the rink!
