A “Thorn” in Team #3’s Side
On January 8th, the Kincardine Novice LL#1 and LL#3 took to the ice to challenge each other for a win. With Team #3 coming out strong in the first period, Robert MacGregor showed his strength with an unassisted goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. They say “every rose has its thorn” and that was so for Team #1’s goalie Rose Pande with teammate Owen Thorn, on a solo mission, burying the puck to get his team a 1-1 tie. Things continued to bloom for Team #1 in the second with Kevin Coady working the puck to teammate Heidi Allen who, after many chances, was able to angle one past the goal tender to give Team 1 a 2-1 lead. The third period gave both teams many opportunities, but time ran out for Team #3 and Team#1 claimed a 2-1 final score.
