On January 22nd, the Kincardine Novice LL#1 and #2 faced off on home ice to see which team could earn a win.
About 2 minutes into the first period, Team #1’s Kennedy Farrell, buried the rubber, with assists going to teammates, Brooklyn MacArthur and Heidi Allen to give their team a 1-0 lead.
Team #2’s Gordie Reaume was not going to let these girls upset his team. On a solo mission from the blue line, Reaume took the puck and put it between the pipes to tie the game up 1-1.
Knowing she had a spa day ahead of her and was going to get her nails done, Brooklyn MacArthur wanted to get the job done and off a pass from Farrell, was able to sneak one past the goal keeper from the blue line to give Team #1 a 2-1 lead.
With many shots on net and opportunities, Team #2 struggled to get any more past net minder Rose Pande.
Team #1’s Owen Thorn wanted to add one for the guys since the dominating girl power line had been working hard and with three minutes left in the third, went coast to coast sending the puck home to finish the game with a 3-1 win.
