Sharp Saves the Day!
After a 3-0 loss at home, the Royal Canadian Legion Pee Wee Reps traveled to Walkerton on Wednesday night and tied the series with a convincing 4-0 win.  Jake Colley started the scoring with a tip in from a Raven Sharp point shot just three minutes into the game. Twenty-four seconds later Chris Coady made it 2-0 after a great pass from the corner by Matt “the Riddler” Harrison. Sharp kept up his strong play into the second scoring and end-to-end goal making it 3-0.  Jacob Bishop finished the scoring off in the third with assists going to Harrison and Sharp.  Liam MacKinnon earned the shut-out with some solid saves, especially in the third period. The series was tied with game 3 to take place on Saturday.

Raven Sharp had three points in game 2, but was asked to dust off the goalie pads and stand between the pipes for game 3. Sharp was clearly up for the challenge and demonstrated a quick glove hand on many occasions throughout the game. Walkerton came to play, however, and led 1-0.  With 5 minutes left in the third, Dayne “Yard Sale” Freiburger aggressively pinched from the point and moved the puck into the corner, where Coady slipped the puck out front to Bishop for the game tying goal and Bishop’s fifth in three games. Forty-seconds later, Griffin Williamson showed his strength and size by adding two more goals giving the Kinucks a 3-1 win! Assists go to Bradley Pickett, Darian Kuz and Colley.

Bryce McFadden and Hogan Allen had another strong game on defense coming to the aid of “third” string goalie Sharp on many occasions. Sharp kept his teammates in the game and deserves some big props for willingly putting game three on his shoulders.
