Third Period Blues for Tim-br Mart Bantams
The opening home game of their WOAA play-off series having been postponed due to bad weather, the Kincardine Tim-br Mart Bantams made a road trip to Mitchell on 21 January to start the best of six series.

A Kinucks penalty one and a half minutes into the first period, from which Mitchell scored on the power play, was the first of eight with only three to Mitchell.  In the first two periods the Kincardine penalty kill - including two minutes of 5 on 3 - was excellent and they had the edge on the Meteors scoring twice in the first period for a 2-1 lead going into the third.  Marshall Smith scored the first from the point from Shane Vollmer and Scott McFarlan.  Grant Stevens netted the second from Tyson Rutledge and Dalton Hayes.

The Kinucks couldn't get the insurance goal their play deserved and paid the price in the third period when emotions ran high on the ice and amongst the spectators.  Mitchell's quick forwards had posed a threat throughout, Craig Luinstra keeping them at bay with some smart saves, and five minutes into the period the Meteors stole the puck from the Kinucks to fire in the equalizer.  18 seconds later the Meteors took advantage of another power play to take the lead at 3-2.  Despite strong pressure from the Kinucks in the last five minutes they couldn't force the equalizer and, a man short after a final penalty, they conceded a fourth goal on an empty net.  Kincardine now have two consecutive home games to get back into the series.
