RIVALRY AGAIN - KINCARDINE VS WALKERTON
Montgomery Ford Bantam Rep B Girls come home from the Guelph Tournament with a SILVER

After a busy or relaxed Christmas, New Years the girls had one game before the Guelph tournament.
A bit sluggish to the start of the game against Owen Sound at the Lovely Attack Bayshore arena, getting their act together in the second and third the girls won the game 4-0. One practise before tournament time the girls had to be ready!!!!

First game into the Guelph Thunder Bantam "B"  tournament against Stoney Creek, Kincardine came in strong.  Scoring 2 goals in the second and one in the third, winning 3-0
Game 2 against Grand River gave Kincardine a big challenge keeping all spectators on the edge of their seats.  Grand River scored in the first, Kincardine came back in the 3rd with many shots fired on Grand rivers goalie finally giving into Kincardine with 1:32 left in the third winning 2-1.
Here we go with Kincardine vs Walkerton for the 3rd game high noon on Saturday,
Both teams going strong on each other. We could feel the tension.  In the second Walkerton scored 2 beautiful high net goals. Kincardine just didnt have enough steam losing 2-0.
Kincardine advances to the semi final on Sunday against Brantford Ice Cats.  A nerve racking learning experience. Again Kincardine came on strong in the second ahead by 2 goals Brantford managed to come back to tie the game 2-2.  Into overtime 5 min, 4v4 , double overtime 5 min of 3v3 , then to a shoot out , having to choose 3 players total each to start , still tied after, now each team having to use 1 more shooter each in a one by one sudden death shoot out till a goal was scored, having to use a the 7th shooter  (JO JO)Jorie Elliott as I looked at her families faces in a worried astonishment yes a goal. Still tension for Brantford still had a last shot  on Kincardine's goalie Amber Howald (Holy Moly what a Goalie) could not get the puck past her out of 7 attempts starting woth the Brantford Captains & Assistants , putting Kincardine to the finals & guarentee a medal !

AGAIN AGAIN RIVALRY KINCARDINE VS WALKERTON
All the way to Guelph just to play Walkerton!!!!!
No fights just a few penalties, both teams were focused on winning played a friendly strong game (as 2 girls from the Kincardine team do attend Walkerton high schools)Walkerton came on stronger again with high mighty shots scoring in the 2nd period . With some smooth changing Hailey Allen was able to create a break away & score with a deak move to tie & make Walkerton nervous into the 3rd per .  Kincardine battled long & hard to maintain or hope toscore, but with the 6 period game from Brantford eariler had taken some energy away as Walkerton scored mid way into the 3rd, finishing the game 2-1 Walkerton .... The girls played their hearts out & brought home a well deserved medal !
Outstanding  efforts  to all the girls you gave this tournment your all, that's what team spirit is all about.
Special Thanks goes to coaches Gord Kemp, Dave Patterson, Asst. coach Hayden Allen (Kincardine BullDogs) and Trainer Arlene McFarlene & Michele Gade  for giving the girls the confidence, will power, positions for power plays needed to win Silver in the Guelph tournament
