There's a new name at the top of the WOAA Atoms Girls Rep League. The Kinucks won against their rivals the unbeaten Mount Forest Rams 3-0 friday the 20th of January.
The girls were truly pumped and kept the pressure up for all three periods. After several breakaways and with 18 seconds to go in the first period Alyssa Andrews assisted by Abbey McCormick found the net to score the first goal.
In the second period with the puck flying end to end, defenceman Clare Husburger had a great rush and scored unassissted to make the score 2-0. With 2 minutes to go in the same period Goalie Rose Pande also had her most memorable save of the game.
Mount Forest came out strong again in the third period but could not stop Andrews. She scored her second goal unassissted to bump up the score to 3-0.
Great play by our other forwards-Georgia Tanner, Chloe Page, Emma Twolan, Laura Fohkens, Libby Fletcher and Slayde Millar and hard work and sweat by our other defencemen Kayleigh Heydon, Jessica Gouthro and Katie Voskamp.
Way to go Kinucks!
