WOAA Champs
WAY TO GO GIRLS – for winning the WOAA Year End Rep Atom Girls Tournament on the March 3rd and 4th weekend. The Canadian Tire Atom Girls Rep team played 2 awesome games on Saturday, beating Owen Sound 1-0 goal by Abby Swann assisted by Alyssa Andrews and Laura Fohkens.and then beating Blyth 3-1, 2 goals from Alyssa Andrews and 1 from Libby Fletcher assists went to Jessica Gouthro, Laura Fohkens and Georgia Tanner, this win put them into the Championship game Sunday against Saugeen Shores.

The Championship game started out with a fast pace on Sunday with Saugeen Shores ahead 1-0 by the end of the first period, going into the 2nd period the game started to get more intense as Saugeen Shores scored once again to make it 2-0, Kincardine would answer back with 2 stellar goals from Abbey McCormick and Emma Twolan assists went to Alyssa Andres on both goals which tied the game 2-2 going into the 3rd period. Kincardine kept the pressure on strong, with 2 more goals by Alyssa Andrews assists went to Emma Twolan on both goals to make it 4-2 before Saugeen Shores scored another to make it 4-3. Alyssa Andrews would complete the hat-trick assist to Georgia Tanner to make the score 5-3 which would be the final. Rose Pande saved some awesome shots from Saugeen Shores. Our defense kept up strong with some great digging by Jessica Gouthro, Claire Hunsburger, Kate Voskamp and Kaeleigh Heydon. Also as always on top of our game – our forwards Slayde Millar, Libby Fletcher, Laura Fohkens, Georgia Tanner, Chloe Page, & Abby Swann. All of the girl’s hard work and determination saw them finish the WOAA season without a loss and a record of 17 wins -0 losses and 1 tie to give them first place for the regular season, along with the title of THE CHAMPS from the YEAR END WOAA tournament. Good luck to all the girls as they await their big weekend in April – as they made it to the Provincials in Toronto with a record of 3 wins-0 losses-1 tie.
