KINCARDINE — For the second consecutive Saturday, it was a black and blue affair at the Davidson Centre.
When the final bell rang on this one, the Black Attack — sponsored by the Tiverton OldDiggers — emerged with a 3-0 victory, but not before a heck of a fight from the Blue squad in Novice Houseleague action.
The teams picked up right where they had left off the week prior, trading blows in the form of end-to-end rushes, and a goaltending battle that featured Blue's Alex Colley and Black's Bennett Ford.
Defence kept the game scoreless in the first period with Gabby Legge and Lucas Bronkhorst making standout defensive plays for the Attack, and Cadence Gibson for Blue.
Colley, with his outstanding play down low, thwarted a 2-on-0 late in the first period, stoning Nathan Arnold and then stopping the ensuing rebound attempt by Thales Hunter.
David Ulak landed the first blow for Black with just less than four minutes to play in the second period. Arnold added a pair, his first on a nice sliding effort and the second in the form of a rebound off a shot from Ulak, which he lifted over Colley.
The Attack was bolstered by the debut of Shivam Karavadra, who joined the team last week.
