Montgomery Ford Midget girls are going to keep the level of effort high with hockey playing the rest of this season. Driven from the spirit and inspiration from our team mate and freind -- Jorie Elliott who has been in the hospital since Jan 9th diagnoised with Luekemia , missing her presense on the team is upseting yet hoping for a steady recovery. The team will chant her name "Jorie" at the start of every period of every game and will continue this the rest of the year . This league game was against Saugeen shores , game played in Southampton on Saturday nit Jan 26th was a make up game , well as all players were still keyed up from the tournament on prior weekend ,
girls played gragefully with a confident 8-0 win , continueing to develop team plays & passing together which is really working. Prior to the game, the coach Keith & Gord addressed a new play into our game called the Hail - Mary which unbeilveably worked in the 2nd period executed by Emily Simpson & Rachel Whitney . The score wasnt the highlite of the game, yet both teams having fun playing the game. With full repsect for Jorie, the Saugeen Shores players all skated that game wearing orange tape on the socks for their support which meant alot ! . The girls next game will be after their exams, on Thursday Jan 31st @ 7:30 in the D/C , vs Upper Maitland . To close after the Pink on the Rink tournament in Exeter , the team Sponsor Montgomery Ford and the team presented Jorie Elliott with a MVP plack with team photo & winning game puck mounted to it with players names & #'s for her inspiration thru-out the tournament .
