Lakeside Kinucks Win 2-1 Close one!
The Lakeside peewee girls were ready to rock tonight, as there mascot hit the ice!
The kinuck girls played a great offensive and defensive game.
The first period Kincardine and Walkerton would battle back and forth for the puck, ending the period in no score, until the puck accidentally slid into the kinucks net! But that didn't get this team down!
Kaleigh Heydon then tipped it in the opponents net assisted by Chelsea Fuller, leaving the game at 1-1 score. Heading into the 2nd period with a tie of 1-1 made the game seem more intense and a bit rough with lots of tripping, stick lifting and icing calls....Into the 3rd period girls skated end to end smacking at the puck! Until defense player Aerial Luinstra rushed up to score on Walkerton assists go to Chelsea Fuller and Alexis Whitworth. Lakeside Kinucks were doing a great job keeping the puck in the opponents end, giving lots of shots on net from our forwards Faith, Libby, Daniella and Patricia which brought a large smile to this hockey players face! And her teammates!
Awesome defense played by Abby, Aerial, Dana and Julia. Many great saves made by our goalie Cassidy!
And the highlight of the game the professional NHL Announcer and his fist pumping assistant in the clock box!
Great job girls, Coaches and parents for an eventful evening.
The girls play today in Ayton at 12pm
