The Attack takes home a hard-fought win 6 to 3!
The Black Attack was back to face down the Red Team during Game 3 of the Year-End Hockey Tourney— 5 pm Davidson. Both teams skated onto the ice with energy and determination.
The Red coming off a win from Blue earlier in the day. The Black from a game against the Green. Despite earlier action the Black and the Red were there to play fast hockey showcasing the skills of both teams. Black’s No. 1 Urie stepped into the crease. He played a great game going head-to-head with Red’s forwards No. 5 Blake Edwards, No. 10 Carter Frosh, No. 3 Spencer Humble. Black’s centre forward’s No. 15 Thomas Harmsworth and No. 10 Charlie Elwood played each some of their best hockey all-season. Elwood scored the first goal at 9:13, then Harmesworth at 7:11, then Elwood returned at 1:33 all in Period 1. Period 2 was all about strong defensive action. No. 11 Ela Jones was a machine moving up and down the ice rapidly cutting of the Red’s attack, while No. 6 Nancekville played with her characteristic precision and focus. No. 5 Garneau and No. 9 Hodgins were also lynch-pins in Black’s serious defines of their end. While wingers No. 8 Lane, No. 12 Lane, No. 7 Richards, No. 14 Gouthro and No. 3 Gouthro worked hard beating the puck up and getting into position for the centres throughout the play. Period 3 saw No. 10 and No. 15 again driving hard on Red’s net as well as working with the defence to shut down the Red. At 3:28 Red No. 5 Edwards got a goal in. Only to be answered by Black No. 15 at #;24 and 1:59 with his own goals.
