Scotiabank Atom girls relentless in 10-1 win over Walkerton Capitals
The Kincardine Scotiabank Atom girls dominated Walkerton in Tiverton on Saturday. In her net minding debut Macara Brooks set the tone right away. Just thirty seconds into the first, Macara faced a Capitals breakaway and came up big for the Kinucks with the save.
McKenna Brown, Ella Gratto and Heidi Allen were on fire as they all found the back of the Capitals net. All 3 goals were assisted by Casey Beisel who was AP’D up for the game.  At the end of the first the girls took 2 penalties leaving Macara to face a 3 on 5 but the Kinucks defense shut them down not allowing a shot on our rookie net minder.

In the second McKenna and Ella returned the favour and assisted Casey as she scored shorthanded and then had an amazing wrap around goal putting the girls up by 5. With amazing passing and soft hands the Kinucks kept coming on strong in the third with 2 goals from Heidi Allen.   The Kinucks were relentless with shots on net. Emma, Gabby and Kennedy all beat Walkerton between the pipes netting another 3 on the board for the girls.

Macara was robbed of her first career shutout when the Capitals squeaked one past her with only 6.2 seconds left in the game for a final of 10-1.

Macara Brooks was named player of the game, as she set the stage early, stayed focused and she kept the Kinucks momentum going making key saves.
The Scotiabank Atom girls will play Walkerton C on Friday December 13 in Tiverton.
