Despite short bench Scotiabank Kincardine Atom Girls kick off March Break with a big win.
The Kinucks started their March break with a big exhibition win against West Grey in Tiverton on Friday.
With Coach Pat and Jake Gratto at the helm the Kinucks were ready to win despite having a short bench and minimal defense.
Halfway through the first, Dakota Christie-Wylds opened the scoring unassisted, Heidi Allen followed suit just two minutes later. Then in the dying seconds West Grey fired back with a good goal just beating Vana making it 2-1 after one.

West Grey kept pressing hard in the second. Vana kept us in the game with some great positioning and strong stick saves.  With line and position changes the girls just went with the flow and played their game, not allowing any more damage on the board at the end two.
Early in the third, sharp shooter Heidi Allen finally capitalized on her many scoring chances. Unassisted, Heidi gave the Kinucks some insurance with an amazing shot glove side to beat the West Grey goalie.  The Kinucks pulled together and played as if a championship was on the line. Everyone on the team had big contributions and big plays earning the 3-1 win.

The hard hat player of the game went to Vana. Her focus and good positioning allowed for some key saves to keep us in the game. This was one of her best games of the season.

The Atoms will face Wingham /Lucknow on Sunday March 16th at 330 at the Davidson centre.
