On Wed Dec 11th of last week, the Montgomery Ford Midget girls travelled to Brussells to play their 2nd game against the undefeated -- Blyth/Brussells Cursaders "C" team . Well with the weather slowing all players from getting there in good time and there was 5 players from the high school team had played in a tournament on London, having already playing 3 games earlier on the same day. Thinking this would affect our game . The fact is , it didnot, in fact the Kincardine girls came out on fire, with great goal tending from Kincardine, enabling us to apply pressure and score the opening goal from a powerplay 5 minutes into the game .
Figuring the game may get rough, it really didnt and both teams kept playing hockey. The 2nd period Kincardine scores again off another powerplay. After flooding to start the 3rd period, Kincardine girls took a 3 goal lead and up until 6:30 seconds left on the clock, Bylth scored their 1st goal. This seem to inspire them to now push and force the play into our endzone for them to slip another goal in making it 3-2. With under 3 minutes left on the clock, the Bylth team scored another goal to tie as the also scored and played with to many men on the ice, 6 skaters were out when the goal was scored and our goalie was injured at the time, which caused distractions i guess for the ref's to notice the 6 skayers out, and allowed the goal for Blyth, regardless of how much we complained. This is how games finish sometimes, both these teams played well and with more sportsman like than last time we played. Penalties for Kincardine 1, vs Blyth with 5 . The girls have 3 games this coming week, 2 vs Upper Maitland and 1 vs Lucknow . Kincardine Montgomery Ford Midget girls would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. The team will be enjoying a Secret Santa team party on Friday night @ the Battlers residence :)
