The game was a very intense game.
The game was a very intense game. In the first period Lucan was all over us in our zone, shooting 9 times on Marcel but none got in. We had no shots on goal. In the second period our girls turned the heat up and most of the period was played in Lucan's end. At 5:30 Lucan received a hooking penalty but sadly no goals during our power play. But our girls kept the pressure up! At 2:20 Lauren got her first goal, assisted by Slayde! With 16 seconds left in the period Lauren fired in her second goal above the goalies head while on the ground! Once again Slayde assisted. Our defence men did a great job as Marcel saw no shots in the second period. Third period started with a 2-0 lead, but Lucan was determined to come back! Things were getting rough, Lucan was firing in shots from all over, never letting up on Marcel. Kaeleigh got a body checking penalty at 7:28 while protecting our goalie. Lucan finally sunk in their first goal with 3 minutes left on the clock. With 29 seconds left the scored their second goal. They shot on Marcel 16 times that period. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. Lucan outshot us 25 to 8. All the girls played hard but Lauren and Marcel definitely shined yesterday. Written by Treena Hayden
