Novice Green Hornets in tough loss
The Novice Green Hornets were subjected to a tough 5-0 loss on Saturday morning, as part of Hockey Day in Kincardine.

The Hornets had a depleted line up, both on the ice and on the bench, as the Thanksgiving weekend impacted the team before they'd even had a chance to face off.

It was an excellent effort by all of the players involved, as they skated hard from the first whistle until the last. Unfortunately, third period had to be cut short after some of the previous games had ran over their allotted ice time. This was unfortunate, since the Hornets had been saving their best for a third period finale, where they planned to rally from 5-0 down to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat... However, the on looking crowd were robbed of what would have been a miracle comeback when the referee called the game early..

The KMHA were obviously less convinced about any potential Novice Green Hornet comeback, when they announced to the Kincardine Times shortly after the game, that interim Defensive Coach Steve Fletcher, had been fired after only one game in charge!!

Head coach Bob Richards will make a return to the bench, this coming weekend, when the Hornets will again have a sting in their tail!
