Jonathan Quick signs for Green Hornets!
Kincardine Green Hornets 4 Kincardine Blues 2

For the first time this season, Headcoach Bob Richards, had a full roster to select from as he prepared to face the Kincardine Blue Team. This would allow Richards to make some tactical changes that would clinch victory for the Green Hornets.

Firstly, it was decided to add the physical presence of Mitchell Desmond to the Green Hornets blue line, further bolstering the defensive stalwarts of Bruce Aranja, Kaylib Graveley and Aaron Urie.

Possibly the most amazing tactical move that Richards made was the late signing of Jonathan Quick from the LA Kings, to play in between the pipes for the Green Hornets! On his debut for the Hornets, Jonathan Quick was simply amazing as he pulled off saved after save, after save. There was even cries from the crowd to check this players passport and playing credentials. How the Green Hornets managed to persuade the best goalie in the NHL to come and play in Kincardine, I have no idea... I did hear after the game some people claiming that it was, in fact, Harley Trudeau playing in the Green Hornets net. In my opinion, this is nothing short of ridiculous, claiming that an 8 year old could have played that well, in goal for the Hornets. Nope, it was definitely Jonathan Quick, there is no other possible explanation!

Apart from the epic goal tending, this was a well fought game between two evenly matched teams. Carter Drake would open the scoring for the Hornets with a nicely taken goal, assisted by Zak Fletcher. Fletcher had dragged himself from his sick bed for this one, and his face was as green as his shirt for most of the game!

Ably supported by Fletcher and Ty Ferguson, the speedy Carter Drake would snatch two goals in this game. However, Abby Boulton would not be outdone. She too would grab two goals, as she led the all girl forward line along with Addison Richards and Rachel Rumbold. It must be said, that the support of Addison Richards and Rachel Rumbold does provide the perfect platform for Boulton's goal scoring heroics!

All in all, it was an excellent start to the festive break for the Green Hornets, as they dished out some Christmas blues to their opposition!
