Atom Kinucks go to Provincial Final!
For the Canadian Tire sponsored Kincardine Atom Kinucks, the challengers on the road to the 'All Ontario' Final have come and gone. They weathered the Storm of Saugeen Shores and sailed by the Listowell Cyclones. The Coyotes of Elmvale were soon tamed, leaving the Parry Sound Shamrocks as the only team between the Kinucks and a Provincial Final. For these Atoms from Kincardine, making the Provincial finals would end a 22 year hiaitus, at this age group.

The Kinucks would have to make the long drive up to Parry Sound on the next part of their journey to the finals. The opening game of the series would show that the Parry Sound Shamrocks would be looking for the luck of the Irish, if they hoped to advance. Despite the long drive, the Kinucks came out flying with an impressive 8-1 victory. Every player in an orange jersey put in an outstanding display, although it has to be said that Noah Swann was superb in this one. Not simply for his 4+2 performance, but his all round display at both ends of the ice.

Other players making their mark on the score sheet were: Carson Fletcher (1+2); Sam MacTavish (1+1), Cam Fletcher (1+1); Quinton Page (1 goal); Alex Colley Aquino (0+2) and Noah Page (0+1).

The following day saw a much closer affair. Noah Swann had put the Kinucks in the lead, assisted by Nate Arnold. However, the Shamrocks tied things up and that's how it remained with two minutes left on the clock. Taking to the ice after a time out, the Kinucks would grab a go ahead goal with a move straight from coach Doug MacTavish's white board. Quinton Page took the draw, the puck was shot goal bound by Swann, where Cam Fletcher would be crashing the net to make it 2-1 for the Kinucks.

In desperation, Parry Sound would pull their goalie, only for Quinton Page to expertly take advantage of the empty net and make it a 3-1 final for Kincardine.

A return to home ice would give the Kinucks the opportunity to sweep Parry Sound and make it to the final, where the Ingersoll Express sat waiting. Unassisted goals from Noah Swann and Quinton Page would put the Kinucks in the lead. Quinton Page's goal in particular, was a beauty as he rushed end to end, finishing clinically.

The Kinucks would secure their Provincial final spot in a 4-1 victory with the remaining two goals being scored by Carson Fletcher and Cam Fletcher, both of them assisted by the impressive Quinton Page. Page has had an excellent run of recent form while playing centre. In particular, Cam Fletcher's goal scoring has benefited from Page's unselfish play.

On to the Provincial Finals for a talented bunch of kids!
