Atom AE Hockey WOAA and OMHA
This weekend the Boston Pizza Atom AE Team started their WOAA playoff rounds and closed out the first round of the OMHA’s.

On Thursday night the Kinucks took on Wingham at the Davidson Center in the first game of the WOAA round robin. Kincardine came out strong in the first with three quick goals. The first was from Dylan Chinnick on a well-placed pass from Tyler Johns and Myles Courtney. Kayne Lee scored on a pass from Bennett Janes, and Chase Anderson scored an unassisted marker. The second period was more of the same hard effort from the Kinucks, earning them two more goals, both coming from Brock Courtney with assists to Blake Edwards and Kayne Lee. To finish off the game the Kinucks scored once more with an unassisted goal from Kayne Lee, giving the Kinucks the 6-0 win. Excellent play by the defensive team helped to earn Kwade Beisel the shutout. On Friday Night the Kinucks faced Walkerton in game three of the OMHA rounds. The Kinucks were up 2-0 in the best of 5 series. The Kinucks opened the scoring mid-way through the first when Kayne Lee scored with an assist to Brock Courtney. Then, in the second Period, Walkerton struck back with a quick goal. This fired the Kinucks up and they came right back with a goal of their own by Brock Courtney from Kole McCormick. Then just 30 seconds later, Jesse Page buried one in the back of the net with an assist to Kayne Lee. The Kinucks rounded out the period on a goal from a scrum around the net when Chase Anderson banged it home with assists to Tyler Johns and Spencer Humble. As the third period started, Walkerton showed some fight and scored an early one, however it wasn’t enough as Kincardine scored three more unassisted goals in the third coming from Tyler Johns, Chase Anderson and Kayne Lee. The 7-2 win was enough to take out Walkerton and move the AE’s on to face Listowel in round 2. Some excellent defensive work from Graeden Colhoun and Thomas Harmsworth at the point made the difference in keeping the puck away from our end. Kwade Beisel played excellent when he needed to. Keep up the great work and good luck in round 2!
