PEEWEES GET 2 POINTS ON THE ROAD
Legion peewees start slow but finish strong in Walkerton

After an extremely busy week last weekend winning the Chris Knott Memorial tournament in Saugeen Shores, the peewees had a one game week.  They travelled to Walkerton to take on the Capitals on Wednesday evening.  The Kinucks came out slow and found themselves trailing 2-0 heading into the final frame.  A much needed flood and a regroup was necessary.  The kids came out extremely determined in the third and the offence came with Liam Colhoun scoring a pair of goals to tie the game with 7 minutes to play.  Captain Colhoun's hard work continued as the period went on, he was dragged down and awarded a penalty shot with a couple minutes remaining.  Colhoun finished off the hat trick with a dazzling move to give the Kinucks their first lead of the game.  Walkerton would not give up easily and Nolan MacKinnon put the Kinucks up 4-2 with an empty net goal.  However the Capitals were able to get one more goal with just over a minute remaining.  Which made for a very nervous final minute.  However the Kinucks were able to cycle the puck in the offensive zone and run the clock out.  Make the final 4-3 Kincardine!  The loan assist handed out on all Kinucks goals went to goaltender Hayden Richardson.

The Legion peewees have a very busy week ahead with 3 games.  Thursday evening they will host Blyth-Brussels at 7:30PM and the other 2 games are on the weekend.

The coaching staff has been extremely pleased with the teams third period play and is trying to get them to have better starts.  Keep working hard Kinucks!
