Montgomery Ford Midget girls are still battling away on playdowns and had a regular season game to clean up this past week. On Wednsday night the entire team and some parents traveled to Chatsworth by bus rented from Young bus lines and with the way the winter has been lately it certainly was a safe and economical choice. Good team building all riding together. The girls had school off this day so the early departure on the bus had no real issue on the team getting a meal in before this play down game. The Kinuck girls wanted this game thats forsure shown by their efforts on the ice !
The team kept things steady by scoring a goal in each period and more importantly maintaining a shut-out for a 3-0 win to give the girls a 6 point lead so far in the playdowns. On this past Sunday in Kincardine at the D/C the team was matched up vs Markdale shooting Stars "B" team for a league game and missing 2 of their regular centers. We this team are really good and likely donot have many losses thru out their season if any at all ? The game was a tie in the 1st period with even shots and stayed 0-0 . The 2nd period was similar and was still a tie 1-1 with both teams scoring goals. The 3rd period was different and the Ford girls were out smarted by Markdale and were out shot and were scored on with 2 more goals to take a 3-1 lead !With only 60 seconds left, the Kinucks pulled their goalie and tryed to pick up a late goal, and this did not work as the Markdale easy open net for a 4-1 win . Scoring out of the 2 games for Kincardine were Ashley McConnell -1 , Maddison McBride -1 , Megan Stewart-Kemp -2 . The team has 2 playdown games this up coming week and off to Brantford this weekend to play in the Walter Gretzky tournament !
