Another Busy Weekend for Kinucks Atom AE - By Leanne Thomson
The Kincardine Atom AE Kinucks had another busy weekend with 2 more wins. On Halloween, they faced the Saugeen Shores Storm on home ice. The team got off to an early start in the first 2 minutes with Evan Graham opening the scoring. Less than 2 minutes later , Maddox Burgess fired off a blast with assists going to Spencer Humble and Koby Palmer, making it 2-0 after the first period.

The second period saw another quick goal by Palmer, with assists going to Dylan Chinnick and Burgess. Jumping Jack Flash Anderson was solid between the pipes, keeping the Storm scoreless until late in the second period , when they finally answered back, making it 3-1. With solid defence and an insurance goal by Alex Colley-Aquino, with assists going to Jesse Page and Humble, the team shut down the Storm, winning 4-1.

The morning following Halloween, and despite the extra hour of sleep, lead to a sluggish start for the Kinucks against the BCH AE Ice Dogs, with no scoring in the first period by either team.  The second period saw the team come to life , led by a goal from Colley-Aquino, assisted by Murray Collins. The next shift saw Graham hit it on a two on one from Kole McCormick, who was flying up and down the ice forechecking and backchecking. BCH drew a penalty shot with 13 seconds left in the second period to make it a 2-1 game.

The third period showed why we pay our stellar and dapper bench the big bucks, with a well timed shift change bringing Page to the blue line with a perfect pass from Chinnick. Page sniped it past the BCH goalie to make it 3-1.BCH didn't give up and managed to put one past Anderson to make it 3-2. The final minute saw the team hold off the Ice Dogs and their extra man, to record another win for the team, now 6-0. The Atom AE Kinucks head to St Mary's this weekend for a tournament. Go Kinucks!
