Atom AE Rock and Rolled to Victory - By Leanne Thomson
The Kincardine Atom AE Kinucks have been busy with exhibition and regular league play . The team finished exhibition play with the Collingwood Blackhawks on Sat Dec 12 in Tiverton. Having defeated the Blackhawks the previous weekend 5-2 in Collingwood, the team pulled out a 2-1 win, with Dylan Chinnick blasting his way to two goals, the first assisted by Jesse Page and Alex Aquino-Colley and the second goal assisted by Aquino- Colley.
Sunday Dec 13 saw the team face the Listowel Cyclones AE. The team rock n rolled their way to victory, in one of the more physical games of the season. Maddox Burgess "brought it " all game long-with 2 goals in the first period - one assisted by Charlie Hall-Elwood. Hall-Elwood blasted his own goal past the Listowel goalie, on a rebound from Burgess and Murray Collins, to open the scoring in the third period. Burgess wasn' t done yet though-he added his third goal with the assist going to Aquino-Colley . But wait- not satisfied with a hat trick he fired his fourth goal, assisted by Aquino-Colley and Koby Palmer, for a 5 point game. Jumping Jack Anderson again rocked the pipes, with our defensive lines' support and making some key saves to earn , yes ,yet again, another shutout. The team unanimously voted Burgess player of the game. This team continues to pull together and remains undefeated in regular season play. Go Kinucks!
