Novice Rep Causes Ruckus in London
The Kincardine Home Hardware Novice Rep team traveled to London this weekend to compete in the Dan Pulhman tournament. Congratulations boys on a hard fought championship win!
First up was the Windsor Jr Spitfires. Right from the first puck drop you could tell the boys came to play. They applied the pressure, worked hard and came out with a 5-1 win. Next up was the London Bandits. Again the lads were all over the puck and the Bandits giving them no room. The result was a 6-1 win. After a night of rest the team faced off against the London Nationals. After a tough game the final score was 2-0 in favour of the Nationals. The Kincardine fans were looking forward to meeting the Nationals again the finals. To get there the team would have to get through the St. Thomas Jr Stars. After 3 hard periods the score ended up 5-3 in Kincardines favour. The stage was set for a re-match against the Nationals.
Kincardine played fast and was up 3-0 after the first period. The Nationals dug deep and came back to bring the score to 4-3 with a minute left. The Kincardine Kinucks bouyed by the support of many new fans who came out to watch the game survived the last minute of intense pressure and despite taking a late penalty held on for the 4-3 win. Congratulations to the entire team. You played as a team and won as a team!
