Saturday afternoon, the Girls hosted TCDMHA at the Tiverton
Arena.
Another active game this weekend with some of the TCD Girls coming out with incredible speed. Our Kinucks took to the ice with bright mouth-guard-smiles, eager to play together.
A strong first period for the Kinucks with practice again showing as the Girls actively executed game-play. As with Friday’s game, the Girls worked well to progress the puck into scoring territory and even had several attempts on net. Avery Boulton scored the only period’s goal half-way through on a breakaway from center.
The Girls played well again in the second, maintaining control of the puck and working well to stop any progression toward the Kinuck’s net. Kinuck Forwards did well to dig hard in the corners, and Defence held TCD to the boards. All worked in favour of the Kinucks as Sadie White placed her second goal of the season assisted by Emily Drake and Lilly O’Handley. The Rebels scored before the period would end, bringing the game to 2:1 for the Kinucks.
The third period started out strong with Aera Armstrong placing the Kinuck’s third goal assisted by Ava Hogan and Dorothy Trudeau. The Rebels, relentless in their efforts and stamina, came back to earn 4 goals in the period for a win. Despite the outcome, the Girls were all smiles in the dressing room, and there were many proud parents in the foyer.
