Exh Games 9&10 - Nov 25-26 vs Mount Forest Rams
The Kincardine Novice C Rep team finished a great weekend with two games against the Mount Forest Rams.  The Girls have played this team twice before in the season, and have been very well matched.  Tons of excitement with end-to-end action afforded the Girls many opportunities to show off the skills they’re building in practice.

Kinuck’s first line started Saturday’s game off strong with Avery Boulton scoring two goals in the first 24 seconds - the first with assists by Lilah Rock and Marley Adams, and the second on a clean break away from center.  Defensive lines were very strong for the Kinucks this game with the plays remaining heavily in the Ram’s end.  Before the buzzer would signal the end of the first, defenseman Dorothy Trudeau accepted a pass from Lilly O’Handley and navigated her way through a wall of Rams, scoring the third goal for the Kinucks.

Period two was no less exciting.  Passing was on point in the day’s game as the Girls rang up two more points.  Reide Searle showed just how quick she is as she challenged the Ram’s defensive line, accepting a pass from Brette Stewart and scoring the game’s fourth goal.  Shortly after, Emily Drake sent the puck up the boards to Avery Boulton who passed through a line of Rams to Lilah Rock, scoring for the Kinucks!  Well done, Girls!

The third period saw two more goals with the Girls making good use of the ice in passing and back-checking.  Dorothy Trudeau scored her second goal of the game assisted by Brette Stewart and Lilly O’Handley.  The final game goal was placed by Avery Boulton, assisted by Emily Drake and Ava Hogan.

Final score – 7:0

Well done, TEAM!!

Sunday’s game had the Kinucks travel to Mount Forest.  While the Girls were riding the high of the previous day’s win, the Rams had taken notes and were ready.  Fans weren’t disappointed as a game very different from Saturday played out.  The Ram’s upped their defensive play, and while most of the play remained in the opposition’s end, control of the puck moved steadily back and forth.  Two periods would conclude without a score on the board, but it wasn’t for lack of effort.  The Kinucks took attempt after attempt on the Ram’s net, but the Ram’s goalie wouldn’t let anything through.

Early in the third period, Avery Boulton caught a breakaway that would land one in the net for the Kinucks, the excitement giving her teammates a boost that would carry on through the period.  The Rams brought the score to a tie moments later.  The Kinucks saw opportunity after opportunity with breakaways in the third, but another goal wouldn’t get by on the Rams.  Outstanding effort by all, Kinucks!

Final score 1:1

See you next weekend in games with TCDMHA, and as well for the Santa Clause Parade!
