Exh Games 11&12 - Dec 2-3 vs TDCMHA Rebels
Another exciting weekend for the Kincardine Kinucks Novice C Girls with fun times participating in the Kincardine Annual Christmas Parade and – of course – a couple of great games of hockey!

This weekend the Girls worked hard and played hard with TDCMHA.  Backchecking and passing are continuing to improve for the Kinucks as is their ability to hold the zone.  In both games this weekend, the majority of the play took place in the opposition’s end and the Girls set up play after play. TDC was able to defend the goal on most attempts, however.

Saturday’s game featured well-timed passes and perfect opportunities for line changes as the Girls raced to maintain control.  In the second period of Saturday’s game in Desboro, the Kinucks placed one in on TCD after the Girls dug the puck out of the corner.  Lilah Rock passed the puck through a thick line of Rebels to Jaelyn Price, perfectly positioned in front of the net.

On Sunday, backchecking was especially on point at the Davidson Center, and Defense stopped effort after effort by the Rebels at breakaways. As the second period got underway, Center Avery Boulton found an open spot behind the Rebel’s Goalie with an assist by Sadie White to place the Kinuck’s goal of the game.

Despite being on the short end of the scoreboard this weekend, both games were played well by the Kinucks.  Final scores:

Saturday - 4:1

Sunday - 3:1

The weekend also brought about an opportunity for the Girls to gather for the Third Annual Novice C Girls’ Toy Drive.  In one of the greatest, longest, and most decorated parades, the Girls caroled, handed out candy, and collected donations for BigBrothers BigSisters Kincardine.  Thanks to the generosity of the town, Coach Russ’ truck was full of gifts!  Way to go, Kinucks!!  Christmas is sure to be extra magical for many this year.
