Game 5 in the series had the Girls travel to Walkerton. After a tight game earlier in the week resulting
in a loss against the Rebels, the Kinucks were eager for a win.
In the first period, the puck traveled up and down the ice as both teams looked to gain control. Half way through Kinucks forward Aera Armstrong accepted a pass from Jaelyn Price to score for the Kinucks.
In the second, both teams took advantage of every inch of the ice as the plays moved back and forth. With a minute to spare, the Rebels scored.
In the third period, the Kinucks showed the strength of their Coaches as each line set up their plays. Well timed passes and backchecking had the Girls in steady control. Early on, Sadie White scored on a breakaway followed by Avery Boulton with an assist from Gracey MacIntosh. Seconds later, Aera Armstrong put one in the Rebel’s net with assists from Boulton and MacIntosh. And before the period would end, Aera Armstrong would achieve a hat-trick with an assist from MacIntosh.
Great game, Kinucks!
Final score: 5-1
