Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks Continue Strong Team Play
The Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks continued to stay competitive over the weekend, however it did not add up to points. The Kinucks tied the TCDMHA Rebels 2-2 on Saturday and despite a good effort, were not able to score versus the Walkerton Hawks at home on Sunday, losing 3-0.

Kincardine came out of the gate hard on Saturday in Keady and outplayed the home Rebels. Consistent play lead to a 2-0 lead with 2 goals in the second. Wilson Shipp opened the scoring. Assists on the goal went to Jordan Beisel and defenseman Darcy Scott who started the rush from his own end. Less than 3 minutes later, Cale Gibson got his first goal of the season. The goal was a result of tough in front of the net work. Assist on the goal went to Mackenzie Beisel. TCDMA scored 2 goals in the third to tie the score. Kincardine had multiple chances to regain the lead but none materialized into goals and the game ended in a 2-2 final.

Sunday the CTC Kinucks hosted the Walkerton Hawks in a Sunday morning game. Kincardine was strong during the game but were unable to beat the Capitals Goalie. Walkerton were able to put 3 goals into the Kincardine net and went home with a 3-0 victory.

“The team was visibly disappointed”, Head Coach Jeff Scott said after the Walkerton game. “Our players continue to improve both individually and as a team. Although we only got 1 out of a possible 4 points, I saw a lot of great work during both games.”

Kevin Coady and Cale Gibson were elected the team “Hardest Workers” of the games over the weekend.

The team will practice this week in preparation for the weekend when they will participate in the 24th Annual Bill Batten Memorial Tournament in Exeter. The CTC Kinucks are scheduled to play Wingham on Friday followed by games versus Lucan and the Host South Huron Sabres on Saturday.
