Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks - Silverstick Champions!
Kincardine Kinucks 1 - Listowell Cyclones 0

The Canadian Tire sponsored Kincardine Atom Kinucks maintained their winning streak that stretches back into October, to claim the title as Regional Silverstick Champions, in Wingham this weekend.

The Kinucks knew they were in for a tough start to the campaign as they faced their old foes, the Mitchell Meteors in the first game. Noah Swann and Cody McLelland had put Kincardine into the lead, in a hard fought game. However, it would be Holden Stevenson who would blast the game winner and snatch a 3-2 victory. Assists in this game would go to Cam Fletcher and Nate Arnold. This was the beginning of an excellent tournament performance, as the Kinucks would build on this solid defensive base of Nate Arnold, Holden Stevenson, Casey Biesel, Noah Page and Jared Houghton. Not only that, every member of this defensive team would contribute assists as the tournament wore on.

Next up would be a 9-2 victory over the BCH Ice Dogs with Sam MacTavish, Noah Swann (3+1), Cody McClelland, Quinton Pagé (1+1) and Carson Fletcher (3+1), all chipping in with goals.

A 12-1 victory over Twin Centres would wrap up the 'round robin' section of the tournament as the Kinucks marched on. The most memorable moment in this game was seeing Alex Colley-Aquino score his first goal of the season, as he neatly deked around the goalie. That said, Colley-Aquino has been prolific with the assists so far. Interestingly enough, although the Kinucks have a hugely prolific goal scorer in Noah Swann, all seven of the Kinucks forwards have in excess of 20 points in the 26 games played to date! Such is the depth, of this potent forward line. The victory over Twin Centres saw many players contribute to the goal scoring. A quick summary of the main goal getters being: Carson Fletcher (3+1), Noah Swann (2+3), Cam Fletcher (2+3), Sam MacTavish (2), Alex Colley-Aquino (1+2), Quinton Pagé (1+1) and Cody McLelland (1+1).

If the Kinucks were going to win this, it wasn't going to be the easy way, as they would again face Mitchell in the semi's. Kincardine would win this one 3-1, thanks to a memorable hat-trick from Noah Swann. However, now would be the time to mention goalie Ryan Tanner. The shot stopper nicknamed the Berlin Wall, didn't tell anybody that the wall had been reinforced with stainless steel and a Cryptonite coating! This kid would be nothing short of epic in both the semi-final and the final.

The final game was an absolute thriller. Listowell Cyclones pushed Kincardine all the way, only for Noah Swann to snatch the game winning goal in sudden death overtime. A 1-0 victory for the Kinucks, much to the delight of the on looking Kincardine contingent. International Silverstick here they come!
