The Kincardine Miller Insurance Midget Rep team chalked up
their second tournament win of the season. Following their win in the hometown Archie
McMillan Tournament they travelled to Durham on Sunday 9 November for the one
day West Grey Midget Rep Tourney.
The Wasaga Stars provided the first opposition, unbeaten in their first eight games of the season. After scoring inside the first minute and killing off a five on three penalty the boys didn’t look back notching up a 4-0 win. A 4-1 victory over Mount Forest in the second round robin game took the team through to the championship game versus Wingham.
The excellent goaltending, strong defence, fluid passing game and eye for goal that had been a feature of the earlier games showed up again in the final, leading the Kinucks to a comfortable 3-0 win to lift the trophy. Forward Shane Vollmer picked up the MVP award capping off another fine team performance by goaltenders Ethan Primeau and Dalton Regier, defencemen Raven Sharp, Marshall Smith, Evan Brown, Will Graham, Grant Stevens and Sheldon McBride and forwards Brad Pickett, Sam Culmer, Tyson Rutledge, Skylar Rutledge, Ethan Long, Scott McFarlan, Jakob Dunlop and Brett Burrows.
